What Data We Collect

When you use our website or contact us, we may collect:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number
• Your postcode or address
• Details of the roofing work you are enquiring about
• Any photographs of your property you choose to send us
• Basic technical data — your IP address, browser type, pages viewed — via standard web server logs

How We Use It

We use your data solely to:

• Respond to your enquiry
• Provide a quotation
• Carry out work we have been commissioned to do
• Keep records of work completed for warranty and tax purposes
• Occasionally contact you about follow-up maintenance (only if you consent)

We do not sell or share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes. Full stop.

Legal Basis

Our legal basis for processing your data under UK GDPR is:

• Consent — you provide your details to ask us for a quote or information
• Contract — we need to hold your details to carry out roofing work you have hired us for
• Legal obligation — HMRC requires records of commercial transactions for several years

How Long We Keep It

Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Completed-job records are kept for the duration of the workmanship guarantee (10 years) plus 7 years thereafter to satisfy HMRC record-keeping requirements, then deleted.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold on you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Ask us to delete your data (subject to legal record-keeping requirements)
• Withdraw consent to marketing contact at any time
• Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk)

To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@sheffieldroofers.co.uk.
